Tomato dosa

Tomato dosa is a dosa that is flavoured with tomatoes. For making them you could use normal Dosa batter or Rava dosa batter. Add a little extra methi seeds to the batter for making it more crisp.

Ingredients :
Dosa batter : 5 - 6 cups 
Tomatoes (ripe) : 2 big
Kashmiri chilies : 1 or 2
Coriander stems (tender) : 4 -5 tblsp 
Garlic: 4 - 5 cloves 
Ginger : 1/2 inch piece 
Salt : to taste 

Procedure :

Cut the Tomatoes into pieces (deseed them if you wish); deseed Kashmiri chilies and cut into pieces; chop coriander stems, ginger and galic; add some salt and grind them using a mixer jar.

Take fermented dosa batter or rava dosa mix; and mix the tomato puree into the batter. Check salt and add water to adjust the consistency in case you are doing with rava dosa batter. 


Heat a pan, turn the flame to low; lightly grease the pan for the first dosa and wipe it out. Pour the batter on the pan and spread it with the base of the laddle in a swirling- circular motion.


Then drizzle some oil on top and cook on medium heat till the lower sides is light brown and it starts leaving the pan. (Sprinkle some water on the pan between each dosa before spreading the batter to make the pan slightly cool.)


Serve with potato bhaji and coconut chutney.
