Beef Roast
Ingredients :
Beef : 1 kg
Onion : 1
Oil : 1 tblsp
Garlic : 5 - 6 cloves
Ginger : 1 inch
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder : 1 tsp
Cinnamon : 4 inch pieces
Cloves : 10
Cumin : 1 tsp
Spicy dry red chilies : 4 - 5
Tamarind : 2 lemon size balls
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp
Vinegar : 1 ladle full
Salt : to taste
Procedure:
Crush cumin, cinnamon and cloves lightly.
Soak the tamarind in water and extract the pulp.
Clean the meat and marinate with salt, vinegar, turmeric powder, pepper powder, crushed spices, ginger garlic paste, crushed ginger and garlic, red chilies and tamarind pulp.
Mix everything and prick the meat using a fork; let it marinate for 1 or 2 hours.
Heat a sauce pan; put oil, chopped onion and some cinnamon sticks (optional) and sauté till golden brown.
Add the marinated meat, cover with a lid and cook on low flame for about an hour.
This will release a lot of liquid while cooking, which will then be reduced.
Slice the meat and stir fry along with some sautéed onions, garlic and green chilies.
