Mushroom assad
Ingredients :
Mushroom : 2 pkt (400 gms)
Onion : 2 (medium size)
Tomato : 1 (big size)
Potato : 1 (medium size )
Oil : 2 tblsp
Garlic : 15 cloves
Ginger : 1 inch piece
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Pepper : 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon : 3 inch pieces
Cloves : 10
Cumin : 3/4 tsp
Spicy dry red chilies : 5
Tamarind : 1 lemon size ball
Vinegar : 1 tblsp
Salt : to taste
Procedure:
Clean the tamarind and soak it in water for a while. Then grind it along with pepper, cinnamon, cloves, cumin, red chilies and half of the ginger and garlic using vinegar and water to make a paste.
Finely chop the onions and sauté them till light brown, then add chopped tomatoes and saute further till it becomes mushy. Crush the remaining ginger and garlic and add it into the sautéed onion and tomato. Saute for half a minute.
Then add in the ground masala along with turmeric powder and allow it to boil.
Finally add quartered mushrooms and potatoes cut into pieces, one cup water and let it cook till the potatoes are soft.
Add salt to taste. Serve with bread rice or roti.
