Squids cutlet or Squids dangar
Squids dangar
Ingredients :
Squids : 1 cup
Onion : 1 medium
Coconut (grated) : 3 tblsp
Green chili : 2
Garlic : 5 - 6 cloves
Jeere meere / garam masala : 1 tsp
Fresh coriander : handful
Tomato ketchup : 1 tblsp
Salt : to taste
Rava : for dredging
Oil : for frying
Procedure :
Clean the squids and chop them fine and mince them. (I usually use the tentacles, you could use the full squids).
Peel and chop the onion very fine, then sauté it with some oil in a pan.
Take a large bowl and add in the sautéed onion, garlic, green chili, coriander, jeere meere or garam masala, grated coconut, ketchup and salt to taste. And mix it well to form a dough. Sprinkle a table spoon of rava for binding or add an egg.
Take a tablespoon of the prepared mixture in your hands, make a ball and flatten it to give it a shape of a discoid. Take some rava in a plate, and coat the cutlet with it all over.
Heat a griddle pan, smear some oil over it, place the cutlet in it and fry them on each side till light brown in colour.
Serve as a starter or as a side dish with rice and curry.
