Fish or prawns Sukhe
Sukhe is a dry preparation of sea food such as clams, prawns, squids; and white fish like anchovy and nethili.
Ingredients :
Indian anchovy (velli) : 1 bowl
Onions : 2 medium
Garlic : 3 - 4 cloves
Tomato : 1
Green chilies : 1 - 2
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder : 1/2 tsp
Chili powder : 1 tsp
Kokum rinds : 7 - 8
Water : 1/2 cup
Coconut : 1 cup
Oil : 1 tblsp
Salt : to taste
Fresh coriander : handful
Procedure :
Clean the fish and marinate it with salt, turmeric, pepper powder, chili powder and oil.
Heat a skillet and sauté garlic and onion till translucent.
Once it becomes like a paste add salt and coconut and mix well.
Then add the marinated fish, sprinkle some water and give it a quick mix. Do not cover while it's cooking or else the flesh will separate from the bone.
Finally add chopped coriander and gently mix it, making sure the fish doesn't break.
