Chili and Potato Pakoda
Ingredients:
Potatoes : 2 - 3
Chilies : 5 - 6 ( less spicy)
Oil : for deep frying
Batter:
Besan (chickpea flour) : 1 cup
Semolina : 1 tblsp
Carom seeds (Ajwain) : 1/4 tsp
Turmeric : 1/4 tsp
Soda Bicarbonate : 1/4 tsp
Salt : 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice : 1/2 tsp
Water : around 1/2 cup
Procedure:
Take a bowl, put in the besan, semolina, ajwain, turmeric, soda bicarbonate, salt and mix well. Add lime juice and water little at a time and make a thick batter.
Slit the chilies into half, length wise and slice the potatoes. Apply salt and set aside.
Heat oil for deep frying. Coat the chilies and potatoes with the batter and fry.
