Sabudana thalipeet
Ingredients :
Sago pearls : 2 cups
Potato : 1 big
Peanuts : 1/4 cup
Ginger : 2 inch piece
Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
Carom seeds : 1/4 tsp
Chili flakes : 2 tsp
Green chilies : 2
Coriander leaves : handful
Turmeric : 1/2 tsp
Salt : to taste
Procedure:
Wash the sago and soak them overnight in enough water. After soaking if there's any water, drain it out by putting a lid over the bowl and turn it upside down.
Dry roast the peanuts, peel them and crush them into fine pieces.
Boil and mash the potatoes; then add it to the soaked sago along with crushed peanuts, chopped coriander, green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, carom seeds, chili flakes, turmeric powder and salt to taste. If you wish you may add some sweetener aswell. Mix everything together with your hands and make it like a dough.
Heat a pan, oil it and spread the prepared mixture over it with your hand or using the back of a laddle. Put some water on your fingers or the back of the laddle to make it easy to spread and not let it stick to the fingers or laddle. Make four hole in between to put oil. Cover and cook on one side, then flip over and cook the other side.
Serve with chutney or ketchup or eat as is.
Serving: around 8 - 9 pieces
