White peas usal or usli

White peas usal usually prepared on the occasion of Diwali.

Ingredients: 
White peas : 2 cups
Grated coconut : 2 cups
Pepper : 1 tablespoons
Jaggery : 1/2 cup
Salt : to taste
Water : for grinding and boiling
Coriander : handful 
Tempering:
Oil : 2 tbsp
Mustard : 1 tblsp
Asafetida (shankar brand hing) : 1 cm piece
Green chilies : 2 - 3
Curry leaves: 3 - 4 sprigs

Procedure :

Soak the peas overnight and pressure cook them.

Grind Coconut, pepper and turmeric powder to make a course paste.

Add the ground coconut, salt and jaggery to the peas and bring it to a boil.

Heat oil in a tempering pan and add mustard, asafetida, curry leaves and green chilies.

Finally add the tempering and chopped coriander to the peas.
