Jackfruit seed halwa

Jackfruit seed halwa you can make this recipe two ways one is just plain which tastes similar to  cashew barfi and second one with cocoa powder which tastes like chocolate barfi.

Ingredients :
Jackfruit seed : 2 cup
Milk : 1 cup
Sugar : 1 cup
Salt : a pinch
Cardamom powder : 1/2 tsp or
Cocoa powder: 1 tblsp (optional)

Procedure :

Clean the seeds nicely, wash them and boil them until they are soft. Then cut them into halves and remove the peel and if possible the outer brown layer. 

Then take about a laddle full of the seed into a spice grinding mixer jar and roughly grind them. Then add some milk and make a  paste. 

You can make the paste fine or keep it slightly grainy.

Transfer the paste into a heavy bottom pan, add sugar and cook it over a medium to high heat. 

Keep stirring continuously while it is cooking.


Once the paste has reduced and  start leaving the sides add ghee and cardamom powder and mix it well. 

Then transfer it into a plate spread it out and smoothen the surface with some ghee on top.

Allow it to cool down, then cut it into desired shapes.
