Mint tea with milk

Mint tea with milk

Ingredients :
Mint : 20 leaves (of 1 inch size)
Ginger : 1/2 inch piece
Pepper : 5 corns
Clove : 1
Cardamom : 1
Water : 1 cup
Tea powder : 2 tsp
Water : 1 cup
Milk : 1 cup
Sugar : to taste

Procedure :

Crush the spices - pepper, cloves, cardamom and ginger using a mortar and pestle, then add mint leaves and muddle them as well. Put it in a pot, add half a cup water and boil it over low flame for a minute.

After the spices have released it's flavours, add tea powder and let it brew over low flame for another minute.

After brewing, add milk and bring it to a boil. Let the milk absorb the flavours for another minute.

Strain the tea into another pot, add the remaining half a cup water to the strained tea powder, boil it once again and strain it into the tea. This is optional, doing this will extract all the milk and flavours trapped in the powder. If you are not doing this step you'll have to add all the water in the beginning itself.

Then add sugar to the tea and serve.
