Beef and goan sausage stew
Ingredients:
Beef : 1 kg
Vinegar : 3 tblsp
Goan pork sausages : 70 - 75 (small)
Oil : 1/2 cup
Cinnamon : 5 inch pieces
Cloves : 10
Onions : 6 (medium)
Tomatoes : 4 (medium)
Ginger garlic paste : 6 tblsp
Chicken / veg stock cube : 1 big or 2 small
Potatoes : 5 (medium)
Carrot : 5 (medium)
Green peas : 1 cup
Macaroni : 300 gms
Procedure
In a large pot heat oil, add the whole spices and fry them until the swell up and release their flavours. Then add finely chopped onions and sauté them till light brown. Add tomatoes and sauté till they are soft and mushy. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté further for a few more minutes.
Cut the beef into centimetre size cubes, put salt and keep ready before you start the cooking, then add it into the sautéed mixture.
Mix the meat well, cook on a high flame initially until it comes to a boil, keep stirring in between. Then add the stock cube, cover it with a lid and cook on a low flame
Mean while wash the sausages and cut out their casing and remove the meat and keep it ready. Once the meat is almost cooked add the sausage meat (and diced potatoes) and cook further.
When it is almost cooked add green peas (and diced carrots) and cook until they are done. Then switch the flame off.
Dice the potatoes and carrot and grill them with some oil. If you want to avoid grilling them just add them while the meat is cooking as mentioned above.
Then add it into the meat mixture.
Boil water in a deep pot and cook the macaroni with some salt until it's just done or untill it is soft and can be pressed. Or cook it according to the instructions given on the pack.
Then add it into the meat and vegetable mixture and mix well.
