Banana blossom with dal
Ingredients:
Banana blossom : 1
Onion : 1
Green chili : 1
Masoor dal : 1/4 cup
Grated coconut : 1/4 cup
Water : 1/2 cup
Salt : to taste
Sweetener : to taste
Procedure:
Remove the upper brown layers of the flower until you get the white layer and reserve the florets. Also discard the hard pistil from the florets.
Finely chop the inner white portion of the blossom, the florets, add salt and water and soak overnight.
Next day drain out the water, give them a wash with some fresh water and squeeze the water out. Sauté onions, green chili, add the washed blossoms, washed dal, little water and cook it on a low flame.
Finally add grated coconut and sweetener to taste. Add salt if required.
